  • 🌊 Pisces ā™“ļø Venus

Beach or mountains? Which do you prefer? Why?

Since I’ve always loved astrology, I discovered my Venus sign is ā™“ļø-a water sign that represents the fish. I love the look of water, the smell, the taste, and ultimately being near it. Water puts me at peace probably more than any other form of nature. The beauty of the waves is incredible…and the animals who reside in the water are some of the most top-tier creatures!

  • Lexus & Toyota

What is your all time favorite automobile?

I am a big fan of the Toyota brand! My love affair began after seeing my mom switch from the American brand Ford. At the time she owned the Ford, she always had car trouble and breakdowns. From there, she purchased a Toyota Camry after talking to fellow owners. That car lasted her a long time; while my brother and sister bought a Corolla. My brother still drives the Corolla to this very day at over 274,000 miles! I also purchased a 2003 Toyota Corolla that I eventually traded for another car. All in all, my Corolla served me well with low maintenance and great reliability.

I will be leaping over to the Lexus line at some point soon. I will continue to buy from a brand that continues to re-invent themselves, and keep the quality up-to-par!

  • 1984

Share what you know about the year you were born.

There were some extremely good and bad events happened the year I was born. Michael Jackson and Prince topped the music charts, Steve Jobs released the Macintosh computer, and so many popular movies were released like ā€œNightmare on Elm Streetā€ & ā€œBeverly Hills Copā€. I also love the fact that Lionel Richie’s ā€œHelloā€ reached high on the charts!

One unfortunate tragedy that happened in my birth city San Diego, California is mind boggling. A gunman killed over 20 people (and injured many others) in a San Ysidro McDonald’s on July 18, 1984. My dad was still stationed in San Diego at the time, and family from the East Coast called my mom to ensure she and my family were safe.

The one unfortunate tragedy that happened that year that still very much touches me is the death of one of my musical favorites. One day before his 45th birthday, Motown singer Marvin Gaye was fatally gunned down by his own father. My mom was in labor with me, and this tragic situation broke many hearts. I was born early that morning on his birthday, April 2nd. Believe it or not, his music touches my soul like no other. I stop to listen to his music every time I hear it. I love my birthday twin, and I feel blessed to be influenced by his music while sharing a birthday with him!

Also, Desiderata was released! Very important life lesson.

    My birth year!
  • Smurfs

    What’s your favorite cartoon?

Even though I have many favorite cartoons (Scooby Doo included), I always tend to watch Smurfs more to this day! I used to watch a lot of Hanna Barbara (telling my age lol) when I was younger. Oh and Disney, I was totally obsessed. I can say being an early 80’s baby was a great blessing because we caught the almost tail end of amazing creativity.

  • Holiday celebrations

    How do you celebrate holidays?

Holidays are meant to be celebrated with family. They hold a time where you value the loved ones that are still present, for we never know what the coming year will bring. I usually stay home and cook with my mother, and also eat with my siblings & nieces if we are all together!

Most of my other family members have passed away, so I just feel blessed to have my close family and friends around.

  • 2023 Positivity

What positive events have taken place in your life over the past year?

2023 was positive in the way of me finding my purpose again. I started writing poems on Medium and started this blog, which I plan to buy my domain for it soon. I’ve been wondering around in a fruitless and depressing manner for many years. However, this year brought me back to spirit like I had in high school. Plus I took another college course (I haven’t been in 9 years), found my independence again, and started praying more. This all have made a huge difference in my life, and I am beyond grateful! šŸ¤šŸ’•šŸ¤

    What things give you energy?

I get energy from looking forward to things I love. When I look towards something that would make my life better, I tend to get an inner illumination.

Also, prayer gives me energy. It makes me stronger and the willpower that I can not give myself. Prayer and getting sunshine livens me and makes me whole!

  • No bueno

What would your life be like without music?

I tell you, music is the cornerstone of life. I can tell when I’m totally depressed because I won’t listen to ANY music. A slow death it is. I feel like it’s close to an ending for me…not necessarily a literal death.

However, when I think about how I need to change my situation I will flip on my favorite tunes. I instantly feel life again, especially if it’s a tune that bring back awesome memories!

    Music is everything!

  • My favorite cuisines

What are your favorite types of foods?

Yay! These are my favorite foods in this order:

    1) Seafood-such a delicacy!

    2) This is a toss up. Mediterranean and Mexican food! However, I can eat Mexican food at least twice a week. Mediterranean has some fresh herbs 🌿 and ingredients that make a healthy lifestyle sustainable.

    3) Italian food is so rich, I love it! I love pastas so much, but the carbs prevent me from eating it too much.

    4) Southern ā€œAmericanā€ Soulfood is some real comfort food. If cooked properly, it will knock your socks off!

  • Virginia…is for lovers! ā¤ļø

What do you love about where you live?

I love that my state is on the Atlantic Ocean and we have some beautiful landscapes everywhere! I mean, the Shenandoah Valley is gorgeous beyond words with some amazing wineries to match. Plus, Virginia houses two theme parks that I absolutely adore and I’m only three hours from our nation’s capital. I used to complain about how boring it was as a youth, but now I have grown to say this place is one of the best and underrated states in the United States!
